Scale Remover No. 1

SCALE REMOVER NO. 1 – is a highly-concentrated, fast-acting non-fuming scale dissolver with patented corrosion inhibitors. Concentrated liquid weighs approximately 13 lbs per gallon. It contains no hydrochloric (muriatic) or other acids for safe use. Dissolves twice the amount of scale – 4 to 5 pounds of scale per gallon – as hydrochloric acid-based scale removers. The recommended initial dosage is 1 gallon per 20 gallons of water in the system. 1 gallon of acid for every 5 tons (horsepower)  of refrigeration capacity may also be used as an initial charge.

  • Safer to use
  • Non-fuming
  • More effective than hydrochloric acid-based scale removers

Directions:

Effective Scale Removal for Various Systems

  1. Drain and Flush: Completely drain and flush the recirculating system to remove existing water and debris.
  2. Remove Debris: Remove any loose debris or particles from the system.
  3. Close Bleed-Off Valve: Close the bleed-off valve where applicable.
  4. Fill with Fresh Water: Fill the system with clean water.
  5. Add Scale Remover: Add 1 gallon of SCALE REMOVER No. 1 for every 20 gallons of water.
  6. Circulate Solution: Allow the solution to circulate throughout the system until scale is removed or the acid is spent.
  7. Monitor pH: Use a pH indicator strip to determine if the acid solution is neutralized.
  8. Additional Dosages: For heavily scaled systems, multiple doses may be required. Add more SCALE REMOVER No. 1 in the same 20:1 ratio and bleed off water as needed. Repeat steps 1-3 for each additional dose.
  9. Drain and Flush: After cleaning, completely drain the system and flush thoroughly with fresh water.

Important Note: Do not use more than 2 doses of SCALE REMOVER No. 1 with the same water. Adjust the bleed-off valve as necessary to maintain proper water levels.
