PURGE LINE SET FLUSH – Accessories
Essential Accessories for Efficient HVAC Maintenance
The industries most powerful and effective line-set flush, Purge, is useless without the equipment that delivers it where you need it. We’ve carefully selected the right components to hold up to multiple uses of Purge, whether you’re using a one or two pound pressurized can or even our five and ten pound cylinders. While other valves, hoses and guns may be compatible with our cans and cylinders, the Vapco branded accessories have been formulated specifically for our Purge formula that not only contains the three to five times the pressure versus the competition, but also the highest concentration of active ingredients to truly clean more with less.

Purge-flush Actuator (injection valve)
- Description: The Purge Actuator threads directly onto the Purge-flush can and connects to the Purge-flush Hose for clean, controlled injection into HVAC/R systems. Because it does not pierce the can (self sealing can), you can remove the valve and use the remaining product across multiple service calls—reducing waste and cost.
- Key features:
- Screws onto Purge-flush 1 & 2 pound can; no can piercing
- Easy connection to the Purge-flush Hose
- Reusable across multiple jobs
- Ideal for HVAC, air conditioning, and refrigeration service
Purge-flush Hose (18-inch Service Hose)
- Description: The Purge-flush Hose is a 18-inch service hose optimized for applying Purge-flush. It’s especially effective for flushing line sets when paired with the Purge-flush Gun, providing a secure and flexible connection.
- Key features:
- 18-inch length for maneuverability in tight spaces
- Purpose-built for multiple Purge-flush applications
- Works seamlessly with the Purge-flush Gun
- Durable construction for HVAC/R field use
Purge-flush Gun (Trigger Applicator)
- Description: The Purge-flush Gun is a trigger-controlled applicator that attaches to a standard charging hose for precise delivery of Purge-flush at the injection point. On-tool control makes flushing easier and cleaner for technicians. The rubber flush tip fits tubing from 1/4 inch up to 1-1/8 inches, covering most common HVAC/R line set sizes.
- Key features:
- Attaches to a standard charging hose
- Trigger control at the injection point for easy use
- Rubber tip seals lines from 1/4 in. to 1-1/8 in.
- Durable and reusable
Purge-flush Hose (5-foot Cylinder Service Hose)
- Description: The 5-foot Purge-flush Hose provides extra reach for technicians working with 5 lb and 10 lb pressurized cylinders, while remaining fully compatible with 1 lb and 2 lb cans. Its extended length improves maneuverability around equipment and tight spaces, making line set flushing smoother and more efficient. Designed to work seamlessly with the Purge-flush Gun.
- Key features:
- 5-foot length for extended reach and easier routing
- Optimized for 5 lb and 10 lb pressurized cylinders
- Also works with 1 lb and 2 lb cans
- Pairs perfectly with the Purge-flush Gun
- Durable construction for HVAC/R field use
Purge-flush Cylinder Hose & Gun Kit (5-foot Hose + Purge-flush Gun)
- Description: This ready-to-go kit combines a 5-foot Purge-flush Hose with the Purge-flush Gun for controlled, on-tool delivery from cylinders or cans. Ideal for technicians who want a complete flushing setup with extra hose reach, precise trigger control at the injection point, and a versatile rubber tip that fits common HVAC/R line sizes. If using with 1 & 2 pound cans, you will need to purchase a Purge Actuator separately.
- Key features:
- Complete kit: 5-foot hose + Purge-flush Gun
- Designed for use with 5 lb and 10 lb cylinders; also works with 1 lb and 2 lb cans
- Trigger control at the injection point for accuracy and reduced waste
- Rubber tip seals lines from 1/4 inch to 1-1/8 inches
- Does not include PRG-ACT for 1 & 2 pound cans – sold separately.
Directions:
Important pressure notice:
Purge operates at higher pressures (140+ psi). For safety and leak prevention, gently wrench-tighten the connections:
- Between the actuator (injection valve) and hose
- Between the hose and the Purge-flush Gun
- Do not over-tighten.
- Establish the exit point: Choose one end of the line set as the discharge point. When possible, work from inside to outside.
- Create a slight restriction: Crimp or partially restrict the exit to increase mass flow and contact time of Purge through the tubing.
- Containment: Place a small container at the exit to capture solvent and contaminants.
- Deliver Purge: (typical starting guidance; actual amount varies by oil load, line configuration, and contamination)
- Up to 1/2 in. tubing: 10–20 second burst per line for every 50 ft
- Up to 7/8 in. tubing: 30–40 second burst per line for every 50 ft
- Nitrogen Purge: Immediately chase the Purge with nitrogen to drive solvent through the line set and maximize cleaning power. This helps ensure the solvent reaches the end of the run and removes loosened contaminants without waste.
- Inspect discharge: Check the catch container; it should show oils and other contaminants. Empty or replace the container and repeat step 3 (and step 4) until the discharge runs clear.
- Evacuate
Pull a vacuum on the line set to remove any residual solvent and moisture. Purge’s low boiling point promotes rapid boil-off under vacuum.
Completion
Once discharge is clear and evacuation is complete, the line set is clean and ready for service. Reassemble and return the system to operation.
