Directions:

Effective Scale Removal for Stainless Steel and Nickel-Plated Surfaces

  1. Power Off: Turn off the ice machine.
  2. Drain and Refill: Drain the water reservoir and refill with fresh water.
  3. Add Cleaner: Add 3 ounces of NICKEL GUARD per gallon of water.
  4. Circulate Water: Start the water circulating pump only and run for 15-30 minutes.
  5. Manual Cleaning: Use a brush to apply cleaner to areas not adequately reached by the circulating solution.
  6. Repeat if Necessary: For heavy scale, drain and repeat the cleaning process.
  7. Flush Thoroughly: After removing scale, drain and flush the system at least 2-3 times.
  8. Clean Stainless Steel Drums: For stainless steel ice machine drums, add 8 ounces of cleaner per gallon of water in a plastic container and brush onto scaled areas.
  9. Final Flush: Flush all surfaces thoroughly with fresh water.
