Refrigerant Can Tap, Hose and Gauge RCTHG-1

The Vapco Refrigerant Can Tap, Hose, and Gauge Kit (RCTHG-1) is the ultimate all-in-one charging and diagnostic tool for technicians servicing systems with R-290 and R-600a hydrocarbon refrigerants. This comprehensive kit integrates a durable can tap, an extended 20-inch hose, and a calibrated pressure gauge into a single, seamless unit. The RCTHG-1 empowers professionals to tap, charge, and monitor system pressure simultaneously, ensuring unparalleled accuracy and efficiency on every job.

REFRIGERANT CAN TAP, HOSE AND GAUGE

REFRIGERANT CAN TAP, HOSE, AND GAUGE – Take the guesswork out of servicing hydrocarbon systems. The RCTHG-1 eliminates the need for separate manifold gauges on routine jobs by providing real-time pressure readings directly on the charging line. The integrated gauge allows for quick system diagnostics before and during the charging process, while the extended 20-inch hose provides superior reach and flexibility for accessing awkwardly placed service ports. Built for the demands of the field, this kit provides a secure, leak-free connection from can to system, making it the definitive tool for precise, by-weight charging and pressure verification.

Guidelines for Use

IMPORTANT: You must check and repair all leaks before charging. Read and understand all product warnings and directions before use. As with any flammable substance, the use of spark-proof tools and adequate ventilation is required. Take all necessary safety precautions.

  1. Attach to Can: With the valve handle turned fully counter-clockwise (retracted), firmly screw the can tap onto the refrigerant can.
  2. Connect to System: Connect the charging hose to the low-pressure side ONLY. The gauge will now show the system’s static pressure.
  3. Charge and Monitor: To charge with liquid refrigerant, invert the can. Pierce the can’s seal by turning the valve handle clockwise. Retract the handle to allow flow and monitor the pressure on the integrated gauge as you charge the system.
  4. Charge by Weight: Always charge the system to the manufacturer’s specified weight using a digital scale. The gauge serves as a critical reference for system performance, not for measuring the amount of charge.
  5. DO NOT OVERCHARGE THE SYSTEM.
  6. Disposal: After servicing, dispose of the empty can and any remaining material in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
