Directions for Use:
Safety Precautions:
- Wear high-density rubber gloves, full or half face masks with filters rated for pesticides and solvents, safety goggles, and a full body waterproof suit with a hood. Type 1 heavy-duty safety boots are also necessary.
- Ensure that the unit is turned off before and during application.
- Remove filtration media, and cover them with a tarpaulin or plastic sheeting if needed. Air filters are best disposed of and replaced. Other parts of the system may need to be covered as well, such as the fan motor and sensors.
- Remove any visible debris and corrosion before application. Use Vapco’s Quad Power coil cleaner for best results.
Application:
- Ensure that Coat It Blue is homogeneous by shaking it vigorously before application.
- Decant into Airless spray gun/applicator (if using liquid) — An electric airless spray gun such as a Wagner W180P, Flexio 585, an industrial unit with a variable pressure airless system or equivalent. (For spraying of micro-channel coils an Atomex HSP-10 is a better option as penetration is increased).
- Start applying from the top, spraying parallel to the coils
- Spray directly onto the coil and covering the entire surface, paying special attention to end plates and tube ends/elbows.
- Apply two spray passes for each side of the coil.
- Allow each pass to partially dry before subsequent passes. Do not over-apply on any pass.
- Maintain a uniform distance from the coil (four to six inches) to achieve effective surface coverage. Apply treatment to both sides of the coils wherever possible.
- Ensure that the product is applied to coil end plates and tube bends/ends.
- The final appearance of the cured product can vary from translucent light blue to a darker color, depending on the type, state, and condition of the aluminum fins.
Cleanup:
- Clean any over spray, equipment, etc. immediately after application with Vapco’s Coat It Clean Up.
